Literature Text

Watching the moonlight on the water,
Seeing the reflections dance.
Ripples caused by tears that fall,
From eyes that hadn't a chance.
Darkness swirls around her,
Casting shadows on her skin.
The moonlight on the water,
Hides the sorrow kept within.

When she wishes upon a star
Bright in the night sky
She'll ask herself why
You have to be so far away.

If she sees a wandering light,
Floating through the air,
She'll wonder if you're there,
And why you didn't fight for her.

She'd have liked a little longer,
A chance to say goodbye.
Though she's not sure why
You ever came here at all.

She knows you had to go, but thinks,
'Where did things go wrong?'
You're where you belong,
For this world was not meant for you.

She knows she'll see you again one day,
But neither here nor there,
She'll be waiting and watching for you,
And listening for your call.
The first stanza is the piece I am most proud of in my writings.

The rest is just to tell more of the story.

My computer tells me I wrote this in 2008, but I think I had the first part before then, dating around 2006 or so.
