It Is The Age of Reptiles

It is easy to make quite an error!
This poem will make it much clearer:
Iguanodons do belong,
Stegosaurus tag along,
They are part of the Jurassic era.

However other dinosaurs are not.
Example: tyrannosauruses are mistaken a lot.
Although they appear in film shots,
Gallimimus and triceratops,
Each belongs in the Cretaceous time slot.

Other distinguishing Jurassic features,
From what palaeontology can teach us:
Ruled by herbivores.
Eating plants of course;
Pleased these magnificent creatures.

The habitats these dinosaurs prefer:
Include forests of tall conifers.
Large plains of ferns,
Exist in their concerns,
So they must be plant connoisseurs.
